Who are we?

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  In the course of moving His Majestic hand, He then made man after His own image.  This is what we read.  And often when we read this we consider it history; forgetting that we are those men.  We are flesh and blood.  But He is Spirit.  What then are we?

We are the work of His hand.  He is sovereign and shall remain so forever.  We are from dust and to that same dust we shall return.  His days shall never come to an end.  But He has ordained that man should die and then face judgment for all he has done in the body.  This is the end of man?  Who are we?  What has He done in preparing a body for us?  We will never again enter into this world as men of flesh. 

Ponder what you are.  You and I will surely die.  And after judgment we will be disposed of as God wills.  Either we will remain in His presence by the Grace of Christ Jesus, or we will be cast away for eternity.  Look at yourself and consider that you did not become a man because you desired to do so.  You are the work of His Holy hand.  Again I ask, who are we?
