Jesus is changing me. How about you?

Stop to Consider

What causes men to stumble will not be removed until the Great and Terrible Day of the Judgment of God. In the mean time, we who walk should strive to be careful to avoid aiding in this “stumbling”.

To the men, I advise a watching of the pride of position, ownership, power, and personal vanity. We are flesh and not gods. We will die like dogs and become face to face with the Holy God, who’s throne is a blaze with purity and who judges by His own standards. Do not think you will stand because of the mercy of Christ. Strive, because of this mercy, to live holy before Him. Remember the words of Jesus: Not everyone who says to me, ‘lord, lord’, will enter the kingdom of heaven. But only he who does the will of my Father, who is in heaven.

To the women, I advise a watching of adornments. In the past, makeup, perfumes, jewelry, and the arranging of the hair, were kept for a woman’s husband to view. In public a woman was seen only as a human being. It was in the inner room that her sexuality was known. In this day we see women dressing more like pornstars than women of righteous heart. Who are you trying to impress by dressing like this?

We will give account of many things on the day of God’s judgment. And it matters very little how you think of what is right or wrong. God tells us now, and will tell us in a final word, what is expected and respectable.

Let your eyes receive these questions: Will it go well for you, on that day, if your actions here have caused anyone to stumble? Do you think, to yourself, that what you do and how you appear doesn’t matter? What if it does matter? What if there really is hell to pay for ignoring the weaknesses of our fellow humans?

Be wise in the way you live. Our days are cut off in mid breath. Remember the words of Jesus: “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins”. And we also hear the word speak: “. . . and all who call upon the name of the Lord must turn away from evil”. You are being encouraged to consider every aspect of the life you lead. Are we an aid to salvation or a hinderance?

By His Grace.
