Jesus is changing me. How about you?

When time stands still

Look at your watch.  See it tick.  Tick time tick.  What watch will you consult at the moment of your death?  How will you be aware of time when time is no more?  Right now we consider what we will accomplish in the given moments of each day.  And we are told to make the most of each moment of every day.  If the moment of your death comes and you have not given attention to the things of God, you will have missed many opportunities.  What shall you say then?  How will you go back and regain a second of what you displaced in favor of the things of this world?

Once again I call to account the words of Dr. J. Vernon Magee:  “We do not work for salvation.  We leave that to Jesus.  We work, rather, for our place in the kingdom of heaven (paraphrased).”  How shall we urge each other on to good works for the name of Christ Jesus?  How better can it be put than this:  “Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.”  (Psalm 2:12)

In the end we are individually accountable with the time we spend here.  All anyone can do is encourage another to the things of God.  Beyond that, we are singularly accountable.

By His Grace.
