Buttermilk80's Blog All to the Glory of the Father

Jesus is changing me. How about you?

An Entrance into the Holiness of God.

I write and Your pure and good eyes see over my shoulder.

Yet those same eyes see the intent of my heart.

You know that I want You and need You.  YOU!

You are the Glorious one of Ancient days.

Billions of men call out to You.

And the grave does not seal their lips.

Love for You, death cannot take.

There is none like You.  High and lifted up from the ways of man, You sit in Splendor!

No word was ever given to man that can do You justice.

You have given us lips, yet commanded a language for us to use.

Though my eyes still look down, I write of Your beauty.

You alone Save.

Your hand alone saves, even Your right hand saves.

Your hand gives strength.

And when You lift Your hand man stumbles.

Beautiful!  Beautiful, is the Lord Most High!

All Your ways are Beautiful.

How my heavy heart craves one look from Your lovely eyes.

Just one smile from You gives strength to weary bones.

I have feet.  But they have never stood under my body in Your pure presence.

You gave me feet that are not of this world.

Those feet have never walked in this world.

They are sure and strong; those feet of Heaven.

There is a body You have given by promise.

And that body awaits my soul.

Ah, to come home!

But to this world I am bound.

I walk as every man has walked.

You gave me life.

You were merciful to my mother and granted her a son.

Yet I did not honor her.

I was sired by a man who did not know you.

I grew and went my way.

I chased all the wrong ways of man, and I walked hard in the ways of sin.

What shall be said of me if it were not for You?

There would be no place to hide if it were not for Your work in me.

“While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”.

What man ever knew my name from the days of long past?

Yet You did.

You said, “Here I am.” And You offered Your hand.

Like a cripple I stumble to come to You.

I pull myself along on my belly.

In Your Mercy You gave strength to these lame legs.

And for a while I stand to talk to you.

Then, as if I were insane, I return to my belly and crawl.

What shall be said of such foolishness?

How weak is man.

How foolish and small am I?

And is this not why my eyes do not look up?

What shall be done?

For the rules of this place, which You have ordained, require a man to walk.

And these rules are right and good.

Is there a place near You for one who stumbles so?

Does the Great tree of Your Holy frame give shade to he who eats dust?

I walk like a snake with these legs of man.

What shall become of me?

What place within can I reach to which will repair my dedication to Your ways?

I confess my ways to You.

And Your Holy eyes see.

You have not broken my bones.

But I brake them with my own hands.

How shall it go for me?

I have written what is true. And now my fingers lose their grip.
