Jesus is changing me. How about you?

Knowing the Unknown

"Um. This is it?"

And the word of the LORD came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

10 He replied, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”

11 The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.”
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”  (1 Kings 19: 9 – 13)

And we read this:

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me”.  (John 10: 27)

Looking for God in miracles and answers to prayer?  Perhaps you are the miracle and the answer to prayer.  The greatest prayer I’ve ever prayed had my feet attached to it.  We seek something great from God.  But among His promises we find Him telling us that “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  (John 16: 33)

It may well be a terrible falsehood to believe every prayer man has will be answered by action from God.  The prayers which meet with the Father’s will are already answered before we ask.  The prayers which do not meet the Father’s will cannot be answered.
Wouldn’t it make sense, then, to learn the Father’s will?  Partial knowledge always produces a partial product.  Who would buy a new car only partially produced?  Imagine a new car dealer with his lot filled with auto parts.  How effective would that dealer be?

Lastly, on this subject, I am reminded of a scripture: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14: 6)   Jesus is the key.  There is no other way to the Father.  Yet when we have Jesus, we have the Father also.

By His Grace.
